Here's some more pics from our recent Detroit visit. These are from the main theater. They aren't the best pics, but they give a sence of the scale and detail of the place. It seats upward of four thousand.

Gettysburg

Another place we stopped at last summer was Gettysburg. There's a masonic memorial there, next to the civil war cemetery. The town is a great place to visit, and stay a few days.

Washington Masonic Memorial

Last summer the family and I made a stopover in DC for a couple days. While there, we visited the the George Washington Masonic Memorial. It's pretty cool. Take the tour, and bring your camera!

Book

Something I picked up while in Detroit. A book titled "Detroit's Masonic Temple"

This book has lots of historic pics of the temple, from the laying of it's foundations on. One of the books authors Alex Lundberg, a member of Detroit lodge #2 was present at our visit, and autographed the book.

Timing for our Detroit vist, with Detroit Lodge No.2, was perfect. It just so happened that our grand master M.W. Bro. Gary L. Atkinson was also visiting with some other grand lodge officers. There were members of several Windsor lodges, as well a Hamilton lodge also visiting.

Detroit Temple: Crystal Ballroom

Here's a pic of one of the ballrooms in the Detroit temple called the "Crystal Ballroom" It is quite large, as you can tell from the staircase in the background.

Detroit Trip

I set up this blog a while ago, but haven't added anything lately. Now there's going to be something worth while! Some of the guys from my lodge and myself are taking a road trip to the big Detroit Masonic Temple on March 22nd. I should have some great pics to post when I get back.
