Here's the building's corner stone, 100 years old this coming week!

The symbols of the degree are drawn on the floor mat by the tyler. The newly made mason's first duty after being initiated will be to mop these symbols off the mat. The sooner he gets this done, the sooner he gets to join his new brothers for a drink, I mean some "fellowship"

The candidate (a volunteer from Prince of Wales lodge) takes his obligation.

Just finished Christopher Hodapp's book "Solomon's Builders". It makes me want to go back to DC again and take a second look. I also really like his jabs at the Masonic conspiracy/New World Order idiots.

Start Scottish Rite in May!

Alexandria/Inwood Lodge No. 158 - Oil Springs, Ontario

Just this last weekend I went to visit my parents in Oil Springs, Ontario. By chance I'd found a link on the Grand Lodge site, to the "Sarnia District" masons' site. There I found a small picture of their lodge building, and their regular meeting day. Since in coincided with my visit I thought I'd drop in for a visit. I lucked out, as they were initiating a new candidate, who happened to be the Master's younger brother.
It was strange just to be away from Toronto. Stopping and checking for cars at intersections, and there weren't any. Being able to see the stars. Being so dark I had to use the light of my cell phone to find my way from the lodge to my car....
